Sept. 25, 2014, Day 13

Happy Anniversary to RFA/MEA!  Breakfast at Hilton restaurant – brown hard boiled eggs! – yay!  I like this hotel – open, modern, nice fixtures and lighting, cool walkways over the shopping/train concourse below and the people are hospitable.  Connected to airport via enclosed bridge = short walk.  We had access to the Hilton fitness center – lite strength training, stretching, foam roller, abdominals, core & stability work – nice locker room, and sauna (nudity allowed – double yay!)  Stored our carry-ons and strolled around the airport shopping area (outside security) a bit and a Starbucks.  Checked out of hotel.  We already had our boarding passes, went through security – duty free shopping uneventful –  I was looking for new Louis Vuitton series with Christian Louboutin collaborating on the logo but no luck - only available in the LV boutiques.  Picked up flavored salt from Ibiza for my colleagues who covered for me (except I ended up working a total of 2 days!).  Our incoming flight from SFO was 2 hours late, so our scheduled 5:25 PM flight left at 7 PM.  Oh well,  no big deal – in Lutfthansa Lounge – just means we get in later – and back to work tomorrow with a 9 AM meeting . . . . Slept a few hours on the plane after dinner.
I read 3 books over vacation (and started #4) = that makes it a real vacation! Adultery by Paulo Coelho, The Days of Abandonment by Elena Ferrante, and The Children Wait by Ian McEwan.
